Data we process

We process only the data needed to provide and improve the course. This may include account email addresses, Google account identifiers when Google Sign-In is used, password hashes, email-verification and password-reset tokens, learning progress and statistics, optional profile information and profile pictures, course feedback, and technical security data.

Visitors who do not create an account can keep learning progress and preferences in their own browser. Registered users can store progress in the website database so it follows them across devices.

Why we process it

Account and learning data are processed to provide the service you request. Security data, including Google reCAPTCHA during registration, is processed to prevent abuse and protect the website. Optional analytics are used to understand how the course is used and improve it. Where consent is required for analytics or similar technologies, consent is the legal basis; security and essential service operation rely on performance of the service and our legitimate interests in keeping it secure and reliable.

Analytics and third parties

The website currently uses Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity for usage analytics. Google Sign-In can be used for account authentication, and Google reCAPTCHA is used to protect email registration. Google Fonts are loaded from Google servers. The website also contains Buy Me a Coffee support functionality and Preply and Amazon affiliate links. These providers may receive technical request data such as IP address, browser information and the page requested, and may process data outside the European Economic Area using their applicable legal safeguards.

Retention

Account and learning data are kept while the account remains active or until deletion is requested, unless a longer period is required by law. Verification links expire after 24 hours and password-reset links after one hour. Analytics and security data are kept according to the relevant service configuration and provider retention periods, and only for as long as needed for the stated purposes.
